Full-time and Part-Time Assistants/Personal Support Workers:
This role could be live-in (sharing life living in one of our 3 homes), OR live-out (you live somewhere locally in Kapiti or Wellington region).
Through friendship and relationships with Core Members, Assistants gain valuable life skills, opportunities for personal growth and self direction, as well as enhanced leadership abilities. More than a job, we offer an exceptional and life changing adventure in friendship and self- discovery. Daily rhythm and responsibilities are much like in any household where members of the household require personal care support:
More importantly Assistants have the responsibility of building community by spending time getting to know people in the home, participating in the spiritual life of the home and community, sharing activities together, and learning about themselves and others as they discover that they can just be themselves and be valued and appreciated for who they are.
Looking for Volunteers from Overseas:
Now that the NZ borders are open after 2 years, we are looking once again for Live-In Assistants to come and volunteer for 1 year in our L’Arche homes.
This experience is one of a kind, living and sharing life with people with and without intellectual disabilities and building relationships across difference.
Come for a gap year, to live in a new culture and country, and to create lifegiving friendships you will never forget. You never know where it could lead!
We can only accept applicants eligible for Working Holiday Visas so please make sure you fit the criteria before applying. Contact us to find out more about our community and roles.
We can’t wait to welcome the rest of world again!

L’Arche Kapiti is recruiting for a full-time management, live-in or live-out role: Team Leader/House Leader for one of our residential homes in Paraparaumu.
The House Leader oversees a team of Personal Support Workers who support the home. The House Leader ensures the health and wellbeing of four members with a disability who live in the home.
